As Impact Women’s Network celebrates its first successful year with an “Intensifying Impact” conference on 3rd October, the team at Cofinitive are reflecting on an impactful year of supporting the work of this necessary project. Impact Women’s Network, co-founded by Shima Barakat and our very own Faye Holland, is a network of female professionals united in raising the public visibility of impactful women and instigating even greater change together. Now with more than 100 Cambridge members and a further 200 members of its online community, Impact Women’s Network has had a cracking year and the team at Cofinitive are pretty excited to have been at the heart of it.

Impact Women’s Network is a celebration of the success women are already achieving, and a space where women can rediscover the joy and support that professional women can get from pushing the boundaries of “business as usual”, together.

Network co-founder, Shima Barakat explained, “we set up Impact Women’s Network because there is a need for a space for collaboration between businesswomen and academics alike, focussed on making an impact on their organisation, industry, sector, economy, environment or wider society. Over the year we have tackled issues together such as challenging the status quo, intergenerational communication, breaking glass ceilings and flying off glass cliffs, we’ve really been bowled over by how much our members have brought to each monthly event and the online community.”

The annual event will be hosted at Cambridge University’s Postdoc Centre at Eddington and has exciting sessions planned throughout the day.

Co-founder Faye Holland of Cofinitive spoke about it, “The event is an opportunity for members and supporters to share some of the successes of the year, listen to impactful talks and guest speakers, and get involved in workshops to help intensify the impact of the network and its members. We are really looking forward to what is going to be an exciting event”.
