Greener Growth Announcement – Press Release

LONDON (9th January 2015) —

Greener Growth Community Interest Company today announced the appointment of Faye Holland, Founder & Director of Cofinitive, as a non-executive director of the company. Greener Growth is a Community Interest Company (CIC) primarily working with disadvantaged members of society, with a particular focus on prisons, ex-offenders and the homeless.

As non-executive director at Greener Growth, Faye Holland will support the board at a pivotal time as it becomes a sustainable business. Joannah Metcalfe, Founder & Director, Greener Growth says of the appointment

“We are delighted to welcome Faye to our Board of Directors – she clearly represents a perfect ‘fit’ for our growing organisation. Sharing our ethics and values she also brings ideal resources – having an excellent capacity to over-view our current challenges, as well as our strengths. Totally “Solution Focused” and an extremely positive personality, Faye has quickly demonstrated a keen and speedy capacity to ascertain what we need, and has plugged gaps in our team with extraordinary clarity and insight.”

Faye will specifically focus on board matters providing an independent view of Greener Growth that is removed from the day-to-day running of the company. Core skills offered to the board will centre on strategy, performance, risk, communication and people.

In addition Faye is also currently securing grant funding to deliver 3 specific charges: –

  • Assessing existing community cases and developing a replicable set of offerings and base cost model
  • Developing the Theory of Change documentation to support strategy and budget development for Phase II and new Phase I opportunities
  • Reviewing the companies construct and communications including internal systems and processes, external comms and establishing a board and volunteer network.

Faye Holland, commented

“Having spent the last two decades delivering business results to companies, and having recently set up my own company, I am now honoured to be able to use these skills in something as worthwhile as Greener Growth. Jo and the team have undertaken some incredible projects at prisons and schools and are now looking at implementing business methodologies to help Greener Growth itself grow. I am excited to join the team as they continue to make such a positive change in the work that they do.”

At its heart, Greener Growth seeks to help people of all ages to be confident and self-sufficient by growing their own food. Its projects are targeted at villages, towns and cities for a wide range of community areas such as schools, colleges, universities, housing estates and prisons. Participants in Greener Growth learn to plant, grow and harvest fresh fruit and vegetables on vacant or underused land. By so doing they will turn neglected plots into productive resources, whilst improving community cohesion where they life. As conservation is a key part of Greener Growth’s ethic, it also shows how to enhance biodiversity and nurture habitats for wildlife. Greener Growth also enlists the support of businesses that want to sponsor sustainability or initiate fruitful Greener Growth projects for the wellbeing of their employees.
